GIS4035: Module 5 - supervised and unsupervised classification

In this lab, I created a map of Germantown, Maryland land use types. The map shows different land types and their total acreage. At the bottom of the map, you will see the total acreage of the map and to the bottom right you can see a small inset map.

This lab focused on classifying supervised and unsupervised satellite imagery and collecting and evaluating spectral signatures. We created a classified image, and then determined classes. once determining classes we reclassified them and merged them into smaller classes. we learned how to evaluate signature histograms and how to fix and evaluate spectral confusion. Overall, This lab built on the teachings of past labs, specifically module 4, and has increased my understanding of satellite imagery mapping.

GIS4035: Module_4 - Spatial Enhancement and Multispectral Analysis

In this lab, we used Arc GIS ERDAS Imagine to explore and interpret histograms, perform spatial enhancements, create spectral and indices, identify data by interpreting digital data, and operate the inquire cursor. This lab enhanced our knowledge of ERDAS Imagine and how we can use it to prepare satellite imagery for map making in Arc GIS. Each Image was clipped from the satellite image to communicate a different objective. to locate and find these objectives we examined histogram data. This lab was useful and productive and improved my understanding of ERDAS Imagine and satellite imagery.

GIS4035: Module 3 - ERDAS

In this Lab, we used ERDAS Imagine to prepare data for Arc GIS. We became familiar with ERDAS Imagine software and its functions for future use. The above map is a map of a subset image created in ERDAS Imagine and mapped in Arc GIS. It shows the different areas taken up by each class. This was a useful and productive lab exercise from which I learned a lot.
