GIS4035: Module 1 - Visual Interpretation

 










  















    GIS 4035 Module 1 exercise 1 and 2 maps above. Exercise ones map shows a variation of texture and tone labeled. Exercise twos map shows feature interpretation using shape, size, shadow, pattern, and association. 

    The learning objectives of this module included interpreting tone and texture of aerial photos, identifying land features in an aerial photo based on visual attribute, and comparing similar land features in true color and false color infrared photos. The Objective of Exercise one was to Polygons, Label, and be able to depict and discern different texture and tones in aerial photos. Texture is how much the tone and color changes over a specified area and tone is the brightness or darkness of an area. The Objective of Exercise 2 was to create point data set for and be able to depict and discern Shadow, Shape, size, association, and pattern to identify features in an aerial photo.  The objective of exercise 3 was to interpret color. This exercise compared infrared color to true color.
