This weeks projections lab Features three different projections of Florida's counties. Albers, UTM16, and Florida State Plane. The highlighted counties are Escambia, Polk, Miami-Dade, and Alachua. (On my PNG map the Dade did not show up in the legend). The table shows comparative area calculations for each highlighted county in each projection. As you can see they are all slightly different as they have separate coordinate systems.
For this lab, the key learning outcomes succeeded in teaching me a lot. I gained experience working with different data in different map views, using the geoprocessing tools in each map view, changing the coordinate system in each view, and putting the UWF_n.jpeg image in the correct place in each view. I also had to sync my symbology choices up between map views. In this lab I used the attribute table to select each county I needed to highlight. making the layer from my selected features is something g I had never done before and a skill I will use in later projects. Setting the poly area using the calculate geometry attributes too be able to see the difference between the area of each county across map views was a useful learning outcome as well. overall this was a productive lab assignment and I learned a lot.
